More Information

While discussing symptoms with your doctor, he will begin to evaluate your condition. First a history of occupation, and living environment will probably be necessary. Routinely your doctor will probably give you a physical exam, and listen to your breathing. Afterwhich lab work may be next. If results are inconclusive, further exams may be necessary. Chest X-Ray, CT Scan, or even biopsy will help your doctor to make the right conclusion about your condition.

Be sure to do you research about the physician you are seeing. It is important to try and consult with a doctor familiar with asbestos related disease. These diseases can be elusive, and have similar symptoms to other diseases. The better your doctor's knowledge of the related diseases, the better your chances of being diagnosed right from the start, and receiving the appropriate treatment in a timely manner.

Don't be afraid to get a second opinion if you are unsatisfied with your doctors conclusions. This is you life, and your body. You need to be comfortable with your physician, and his ability.
