Asbestos Exposure Prevention
The single most important thing to remember about asbestos is to prevent inhalation around asbestos fibers. Inhalation leads to asbestosis, mesothelioma, and lung cancer, as well as other related disease, which are usually fatal. - Respiratory protection, training, for high risk employees.
- Provide protective clothing for employees.
- Establish decontamination areas and hygeine training for employees.
- General preventative safety training for employees, and employers.
- Regular medical exams for workers involved in higher classes of exposure.
- Keep accurate records monitoring employee medical and exposure, as well as training.
