Asbestos Alert
Home & School
Regulations have been put in place to educate and protect school children, and employees from asbestos related issues in and around school.
AHERA (Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act) was passed by Congress to help set requirements for our schools, in handling asbestos concerns.
School employees are educated and required to inspect and maintain any asbestos products in schools. It is very possible that asbestos can be found in your child's school, especially if it was built before 1980. Don't panic however, if there is asbestos, these regulations require frequent and efficient monitoring. If you are concerned about a possible asbestos problem contact your school principal.
